Welcome to Food for Thought SC (FFTSC). We are excited to introduce this resource to child nutrition professionals across South Carolina. We are genuinely enthused about the power that FFTSC has to empower school food authorities to help children lead their best lives. These children are WHY we do what we do, and this resource will help you do it better.

This website and the tools provided will help your SFA to be compliant with USDA regulations and allows you to spend more time developing menus that children want. You have access to thousands of recipes, many of which are trendy, flavor-forward, and kid-friendly.

We need your help! If you have trendy, flavor-forward, kid-friendly recipes that are a hit with your students, please send them to us, and we will add them to the system for other schools to share with their students.

Also, please collaborate. As you find new menu items, your students love and drive your participation, share with your neighbors and colleagues in school nutrition.

We are thankful to the team that has worked hard on this project. And of course, this would not be possible without the generous funding provided by the USDA Administrative Review Training Grant. Thank you USDA.

Office of Health and Nutrition

All children in participating elementary schools are provided with a variety of free fresh fruits and vegetables that they may not have an opportunity to eat otherwise. These fruits and vegetables are to be distributed throughout the school day separate from their break-fast and lunch meals.
